LOCATION: Vancouver, BC
WEATHER: HOTTTTTT
Newest development: Your bed automatically turns into a free massage bed with each passing of the train! BONUS.
Mike decided to start his morning off right with a cup of hot cocoa.
Mike: "I have hot cocoa and you donnnn't."
Me: "What the hell do you want hot cocoa for? It's 30 degrees outside!"
Mike: "Mmmm." Moments later. "Mom, taste this, I think the milk is sour."
Mom: "I'm not tasting it!"
Mike: "I drank half the cup, you can at least have a SIP!"
Mom almost ralphs, "Oh yeah, that's sour."
Mike: "Am I gonna die? Do people die from this?! I DRANK SOUR MILK!" Heads for the bathroom but Dad's in there, "K, I GOTTA BARF SO...."
Needless to say, I was reeeal jealous that he had hot cocoa and I didn't.
After the events of the morning, we packed up our crap and decided to head for Stanley Park and the Vancouver Aquarium. Whether it was a mix of the chunks ahoy milk or his usual distaste for traveling in small vehicles, we had to pull over not long after departure so Mike could wretch his guts out onto the side of Highway 1. Woo! Excited for the aquarium, Mike!? Poor guy. "How much further? I hate this. I'd rather have my esophagus ripped out with a claw hammer." Hahaha.
We made it to the aquarium, the rest of our guts intact, around 1:30 p.m. and Mike's unhappiness was quickly extinguished at the sight of a Mel Gibson portrait on display at one of the many stands where people were having their pictures drawn. We had a great, albeit sweltering, time at the aquarium and spent about two hours walking around and checking out the sea-life sights. We tried to catch the Beluga show, but they had the most annoying woman on the planet MCing, and the only seats available were right under the speaker, so that coupled with the extreme heat and we didn't last very long. But all curdles and bonching aside, it still turned out to be an afternoon well spent, taking in the sights of Stanley Park and East Hastings on our way to and from the aquarium.
We spent the rest of the day relaxing, while Dad ran out to get the Church's Chicken of his youth for dinner, even though, "It isn't as crispy as I remember it!" We tried to hit up the pool for another evening swim, but with the impending weekend apparently come noobs in mass amounts (& people not obeying the 'no children after 9 p.m.' rule) so that was that.
Tomorrow is calling for even hotter weather, so it's looking like another low-key day spent at the park.
Letting the good times roll,
